3 GATEFOLD CARDS TO MAKE IN 2026

Here are 3 gatefold cards you should make in 2026!

I wanted to try a new fun fold and found three gatefolds I think you should make too!

I am going to be using the Homemade Sweetness Suite from Stampin’ Up! for today’s cards.

I will also be using the Beautifully Celebrated Dies: https://www.stampinup.com/products/beautifully-celebrated-dies?demoid=2212777

I have a FREE PDF Tutorial for today's cards you can get here when you sign up for my email list: GET FREE TUTORIAL PDF

NOTE: If you are already on my email list this free PDF resource has already been sent to you!

The Homemade Sweetness Suite will be available on March 3, 2026 with the release of the March 2026 Online Exclusives (not in a printed catalog) exclusively in the online store.

You can wait OR you can take advantage of the starter kit and add this suite! If you get the starter kit today or before March 2nd you will also get the Stampin' Positioner tool for free! Plus, free shipping on your starter kit!

If you would like to learn more about the starter kit please reach out to me with questions: stampingwithhart@gmail.com or click here: STARTER KIT SPECIAL

DOUBLE GATEFOLD CARD

Measurements:

CARD BASE: 5-½ x 11” Score: 1-¼, 3-⅜, 7-⅝, 9-¾”

DESIGNER PAPER: (Homemade Sweetness DSP)
  • (2) Strips 1-⅛ x 5-⅜”
  •  (2) Panels 2 x 5-⅜”
  •  Insert: 4 x 5-¼” (Basic White)
Instructions:

Cut card base and score. Fold on score lines. Achieve crisp edges with bone folder. Glue panels and strips.

Stamp greeting on die cut for card front and insert. Glue insert inside card. I chose to glue down the double gatefold flaps but it is optional. See video tutorial.

When adding your die cut to the front of the card be sure to only add adhesive to the left side panel so you don’t glue the gatefold shut. Add embellishments.

Next, the SIDE GATEFOLD CARD!

SIDE GATEFOLD CARD

Measurements:

CARD BASE: 5-½ x 8-½” Score: 1-½, 5-¾”

Designer Paper:
  • (1) Strip 1-¼ x 5-¼”
  • (1) Panel 2-½” x 5-¼”
  • Insert: 4 x 5-¼” (Basic White)
Instructions:

Cut card base and score. Fold on score lines. Line up corners of cardstock before creasing with bone folder so it’s nice and straight. Glue panel and strip.

Stamp greeting on die cut for card front and insert. Glue insert inside card.

When adding your die cut to the front of the card be sure to only add adhesive to the left side panel so you don’t glue the gatefold shut. Add embellishments.

Finally, here's the BOOK BIND GATEFOLD CARD!

Measurements:

CARD BASE: 4-¼ x 11” Score: 2-⅛”, 3-⅜, 8-⅞”

Designer Paper:
  • (1) Strip 1 x 4”
  • (2) Panels 1-⅞” x 4”
  • Insert: 4 x 4” (Basic White)
  • Optional: (2) Strips of Ribbon (about 6 inches for first piece and 10 inches for the bow)
  • Optional: (2) 1/2 x 4" DSP strips for the inside of the card
Cut card base 4-¼ x 11” and score: 2-⅛”, 3-⅜, 8-⅞”. Fold on score lines. Achieve crisp edges with a bone folder. Glue panels and strip onto card.

Stamp greeting on die cut for the front of card and insert.

NOTE: If you are adding ribbon to the book bind section of the card I like I did in the tutorial then glue the edges of the ribbon inside the book bind strip before gluing this strip down. With a book bind fold you glue the first panel (first score line) to the card and then your gatefold panels open and close on this fun fold! Add your 4 x 4 insert.

When adding your die cut to the front of the card be sure to only add adhesive to the left side panel so you don’t glue the gatefold shut.

OPTIONAL: When I tie bows I usually cut two pieces of ribbon, 6” strip for the book bind strip and 10” for the bowl. Once I have the bow in place I add a glue dot behind the knot to hold in place. I know many of you prefer to keep the ribbon flat and not add the bow so this way you can choose the look you prefer. Add embellishments.
