For those of you who really like creating photo cards or invitations but still want the handmade touch I made this Apple theme card and included a picture of my son the first time he picked his own apple at the farm. It was such a sweet moment. I love the coordinating apple die. I will be using that a lot!

Stampin' Blends: Poppy Parade Light and Dark & Old Olive Light and Dark. Just alternated as I colored all of those leaves and apples. Used a touch of Soft Suede on the branches.

This Stamp Set or Bundle will be available August 3rd when the new July-December 2021 Mini Stampin' Catalog goes live to customers.

You can purchase it as a preorder item now if you are demonstrator. You can also include it in your Starter Kit. Love a crafting community, first look, first buy and discounts? You get all of that when you purchase the starter kit - plus FREE SHIPPING!

Grateful (Nuts About Squirrels) & Falliday Stamp a Stack

GRATEFUL SQUIRREL CARD

When I knew I was designing a Gratitude card I had to pick the squirrel who scored the acorn. There are two different squirrels to choose from in this brand new stamp set "Nuts About Squirrels" from Stampin' Up! I also incorporated the leaves and sentiment from another stamp set that coordinates perfectly, "Sparkle of the Season."

These stamp sets will be available to customers on August 3rd. If you do not want to wait you do have the option of adding them to a starter kit! As a demonstrator you can preorder these items now and that includes the starter kit. Questions, email me or message me and I'd happy to talk with you.

If you need a catalog (the new one is called July to December 2021 Mini Catalog from Stampin' Up!) message me and I'll get one out to you if you do not currently have a demonstrator.

Positive Encouragement Cards for Kids (Love Stellar Birthday Messaging)

My son Connor started Summer Camp last week. This camp helps Pre K kids transition to Kindergarten but for Connor there's additional transition concerns due to the autism support he needs at a new, much bigger school. Let's just say it's a big transition for me too.

It's a very special time for him and I wanted to make something that would bring a smile to his face on his first day. He LOVES stars and space. Stellar Birthday Stamp Set fit the bill!

Card Measurements:
5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4" - Basic White Cardstock
Layering Piece 4 x 5 1/4" Basic White Cardstock
Sentiment for Boy Astronaut card: 1 x 2 1/4"
Sentiment Piece for Girl Card (Small Star Die from Tidings & Trimmings Bundle)

Products Used:
Misty Moonlight Classic Stampin' Pad
Pacific Point Classic Stampin' Pad
Stellar Birthday Stamp Set
Blending Brushes
Sponge Daubers
Shimmery White Embossing Paste & Spatulas
Star Stencil from March 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit
Banners Pick a Punch
Polished Pink Ribbon (for her card)

Stampin' Blends for Boy Astronaut:

Misty Moonlight Light
Gray Granite Light
Ivory
Cinnamon Cider

Stampin' Blends for Girl Astronaut:

Polished Pink Light
Gray Granite Light
Ivory
Cajun Craze

Misty Moonlight and Pacific Point are the colors for the space background

The blending brushes have been a learning curve for me. I kept getting harsh marks on other projects so this time I decided to make the harsh marks the background! I actually loved the result. So, Misty Moonlight was blended to create the overall background and then I added in smaller dabs of Pacific Point with a Sponge Dauber in the lighter areas to create a two tone look.

This was my first time using the Shimmery White Embossing Paste and it was a very cool technique. If you have a sensory seeker who enjoys textures and sparkles this is such a nice addition to a card. It is true about cleaning up your stencil and spatula right away with warm water. Don't let it sit. It hardens quickly.

This is a pretty straightforward technique. The more opaque the better if you want the paste to really stand out against your background. That's what I chose here. You could also do a very thin layer which is a bit of a softer look.

Just a note about the Mercury Glass Acetate. The silver side has a plastic layer you can remove. I used this to create the moon in the corner.
