CASEING the April 2026 Paper Pumpkin TEASER CARD: Wonderful Scenes and Waterside Retreat

Today I am on the C.A.S.E. (copy and share everything) or an interpretation of the April Paper Pumpkin teaser card released by Paper Pumpkin on April 1st may be a better way to describe today's card tutorial!

There are only THREE DAYS LEFT to subscribe to the Lakeside Retreat Paper Pumpkin Kit! Subscribe Here

I will be using the Waterside Retreat Suite and the Wonderful Scenes Dies to CASE (for fun) until the April Paper Pumpkin Kit arrives toward the end of the month. Then we can CASE again!

The Waterside Retreat Suite will be available May 5, 2026 as well as the new Peaceful Pine products used in today's video. If you are interested in purchasing the Starter Kit you can purchase those items in your kit or place a preorder as a demonstrator right now. If you have questions please reach out to me or you can learn more about the Starter Kit here: https://www.stampinup.com/join?demoid=2212777

CARD 1 - CASE Version (interpretation before kit arrives)

Card Base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2" Score: 4-1/4" (Basic White)
Base Layer: 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" Wood Grain Pattern Waterside Retreat DSP
Scene Layer (Cabin): 3-1/2 x 4" Sampler Page Waterside Retreat DSP
Peaceful Pine Cardstock Layer: 3-3/4 x 4-1/4"
Plaid Strip: 1 x 4" Plaid Pattern Waterside Retreat DSP
Green rectangle (background for Wonderful Die Cut) 1/2 x 3-1/4" Sampler page
(2) Sign Die Cut - Pecan Pie Cardstock (Wonderful Scenes Dies) (extra hinge)
(1) Sign Insert - Wood Grain Pattern Waterside Retreat DSP
(1) Wonderful Word Die Cut - Misty Moonlight Cardstock (Wonderful Scenes Dies)
(1) Basic White Sentiment - 1/2 x 1-3/4"
(1) Loose Anchor Trinket
(1) Piece of Twine (About 6") Trim as needed

Glue the Woodgrain pattern to card base. Glue the cabin scene to the Peaceful Pine layer. Pop the plaid strip onto dimensionals and place under the cabin scene.

Stamp "Dad" from Relaxing Waterside Stamp Set onto the sign insert in Peaceful Pine ink. Place low so you can add your word die above it.

Assemble your sign. Adhere the insert with tear and tape to hold in place. Optional: add an extra hinge using part of the second sign you die cut. See video for tutorial on how to adhere extra piece.

Stamp "Happy Father's Day" from the same stamp set also in Peaceful Pine ink on the Basic White strip and glue to the lower added hinge.

Trim the rectangle from the green journal sampler piece on the DSP (see video). Glue "Wonderful" die cut to it and then adhere at a diagonal on the sign above "Dad." Pop the whole sign onto dimensionals and add center covering cabin.

Finish with the loose anchor trinket. Optional: thread it with twine and add to sign post with mini glue dot.

In addition to the CASE card I did make two more "alternates" based on the Wonderful Scenes "sign" die which is just TOO FUN not to use!

CARD 2

Card Base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2" Score: 4-1/4" (Basic White)
Base Layer: 4 x 5-1/2" Stripe Pattern Waterside Retreat DSP
Scene Layer (Lake with Boats): 3-1/4 x 4-3/4" Sampler Page Waterside Retreat DSP
Peaceful Pine Cardstock Layer: 3-1/2 x 4-3/4"
(1) Sign Die Cut - Pecan Pie Cardstock (Wonderful Scenes Dies)
(1) Sign Insert - Wood Grain Pattern Waterside Retreat DSP
(1) Large Grassy Patch Die Cut - Peaceful Pine Cardstock (Wonderful Scenes Dies)
(2) Small Grassy Patch Die Cuts - Peaceful Pine Cardstock (Wonderful Scenes Dies)
(1) Loose Anchor Trinket
(1) Piece of Twine (About 6") Trim as needed

Stamping: "Have a great birthday and Dad" stamps onto the sign insert in Peaceful Pine ink. Also stamp the small and large grassy patches in Peaceful Pine ink on the coordinating die cuts.

The striped layer first then mount the lake scene to the Peaceful Pine layer before gluing to card. Place the die cut sign left side with two of the grassy patches around the base of the sign post (one large and one small) and then the other small grassy patch in the lower right corner of lake scene.

Finish with the trinket, same instructions as the first card.

CARD 3

Card Base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2" Score: 4-1/4" (Very Vanilla)
Base Layer: 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" Dock Scene Waterside Retreat DSP
(1) Sign Die Cut - Pecan Pie Cardstock (Wonderful Scenes Dies)
(1) Sign Insert - Basic White
(1) Adirondack Chair Die Cut - Basic White Cardstock (Relaxing Waterside Dies)
(1) Book Die Cut - Basic White Cardstock (Wonderful Scenes Dies)
(2) Sea Gulls (fussycut from DSP)

This is a build a scene card!

Stamping: Stamp the Adirondack chair on the coordinating cardstock in Gray Granite ink. Same with the book. Stamp "Here's to the Next Chapter" in Peaceful Pine ink on the sign insert.
I chose to remove the sign post from the side and make it a "hanging sign" upper right hand corner of card on dimensionals.

Chair gets placed lower left on dimensionals and the book gets placed on the arm of the chair with adhesive. Optional: Color book with Peaceful Pine Stampin' Blends.

Fussy cut two seagulls from DSP pattern. (if you don't like to fussy cut you have two bird options in stamps and coordinating dies from Relaxing Waterside Bundle as well - just swap it out if you prefer. Place seagulls in the sky around the sign.

No embellishments on this card.

So! What do you think?

I think the men in your life are going to LOVE these cards or anyone who appreciates nature, trees, lakes, birds or relaxing scenes. I mean, c'mon now!

March 2026 Paper Pumpkin ALTERNATE CARD IDEAS: Fluttering Garden

Here are some alternate card ideas featuring the March 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit: Fluttering Garden!

Instructions:

Paper Pumpkin Kit Card Base
Beautifully Celebrated Die Cut: 4 x 4-7/8" (Pretty Peacock Cardstock)
Beautifully Celebrated Die Cut: 3 x 3-3/4" (Paper Pumpkin Kit Card Base)
(2) Hummingbird Die Cuts
(3) Embellishments from Kit

Using Versamark ink stamp the "splatter pattern stamp" from the kit around the edges of the Pretty Peacock layer. Sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with heat tool.

NOTE: For all of the heat embossing I recommend an anti-static powder tool which is including the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Wiping this across the surface prior to stamping removes oils so the powder only sticks to the Versamark ink. This is an optional step but I highly recommend it.

Repeat the stamping technique with Pretty Peacock ink around the edges of the second layer.

Position your hummingbirds and stamp the anniversary greeting under them. For fun, add some pretty peacock with water painter to bellies of the birds (slightly damp brush, not sopping wet)

Adhere to card and finish with embellishments under greeting.

This card has the same stamping technique as above with the rounded bottom floral spray stamp all the way around the Coastal Cabana layer (4 x 4-7/8") and then heat embossed with gold powder.

Pretty Peacock Layer is 2-1/8 x 2-5/8" with the Hello greeting stamp from kit in gold heat emboss as well.

The card base also has the flower trio stamp in Pretty Peacock along the top and bottom of the card.

Paper Pumpkin Kit Card Base
Beautifully Celebrated Die Cut: 4 x 4-7/8" (Gorgeous Grape Cardstock)
Beautifully Celebrated Die Cut: 3 x 3-3/4" (Watercolor Emboss Resist Layer)
Beautifully Celebrated Die Cut: 1-5/8 x 2" (Basic White Cardstock)
(3) Small Hummingbird Die Cuts
(4) Embellishments from Kit

Instructions:

Create a background with emboss resist technique. Take a piece of the watercolor paper. Stamp background. I used the large leafy stamp and the splatter stamp with Versamark ink first. Sprinkle clear embossing powder over the pattern and heat set with heat tool.

Do a watercolor wash using water and a drop of Coastal Cabana ink from your refill or stamp pad, mix and paint over the pattern with large water painter brush. This can be nice and wet because I used the watercolor paper to create this background. Die cut with Beautifully Celebrated Dies. I was able to get two die cuts from one piece of 5 x 7 watercolor paper. (Allow to dry before die cutting)

OPTIONAL: With Coastal Cabana ink stamp a background pattern on the card base as well.

Stamp greeting "Birthday Wishes" from kit onto the smallest die cut in Gorgeous Grape ink.

Finish with hummingbirds and embellishments.

This card has the same background as above except the watercolor layer die is 3-1/2 x 4-1/4" Early Espresso layer is 4 x 4-7/8"

Instructions:

Paper Pumpkin Card Base
Branching Out Die: 3-1/2 x 4-7/8" Pretty Peacock Cardstock
Branching Out Die: 3-1/8 x 4-1/2" Watercolor Paper Layer
(1) Large Hummingbird Die Cut
(1) Mothers Day Die Cut
(1) Beautiful Die Cut
(3) Embellishments from Kit

This card also features the emboss resist technique. This pattern features the flower trio stamp from kit, clear emboss powder on the watercolor paper again this time using Gorgeous Grape. Die Cut with Branching Out Dies.

My goal was to create a gradient effect, darker ink in the flowers and lighter shading above the flowers. It gives it a sort of halo effect and it's okay to be messy and use water on the watercolor paper.

Assemble your card and finish with embellishments.

Same measurements and technique as above except this is Old Olive ink and water with the emboss resist pattern and I placed this pattern vertically.

This card is the closest to the Paper Pumpkin designed cards. I used black heat emboss powder on this wreath pattern using the stamp from the kit and following along with the printed circle on the card base. I cut this into a layer with Beautifully Celebrated Dies in 3-1/2 x 4-1/4" size. Gorgeous Grape in the largest die.

I did use the water painters to color this image (the fine tip brush) but I really kept the brush damp *NOT WET* because I was coloring on regular paper and not watercolor paper you don't want it to warp, so try to use as little water as possible when coloring.

This is a nice option if you don't want to add hummingbirds to your card.

Handmade Dutch Door Cards - Easy Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card Ideas for February 2026

If you are loving your Paper Pumpkin kit cards and you feel ready to try your hand at making some easy fun fold cards with your Paper Pumpkin Kits I recommend the Dutch Fold Card!

I have three Dutch Fold Cards for you today using the February 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit: Celebrate Spring! The Easter Joy Suite also coordinates with the February 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit.

FUN FACT: I only used Shy Shamrock ink with the alternative cards as well! All you need is extra cardstock for these fun folds! And I recommend scissors, a paper trimmer and liquid glue.

I have a free PDF download of today's card measurements and instructions. You can get it here when you sign up for my email list: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/zt1LQ8b/3dutchdoorfolds

Need a refill for the February Kit? https://www.stampinup.com/products/celebrate-spring-paper-pumpkin-refill?demoid=2212777

Don't miss out on the March Paper Pumpkin Kit: Fluttering Garden! You can subscribe here: https://www.stampinup.com/products/paper-pumpkin-subscription/?demoid=2212777

There is a BONUS stamp set in the March kit!

VERTICAL DUTCH DOOR FOLD CARD

CARD BASE: 5-½ x 8-½” Score: 4-¼”

Cut the front of the card in half at 2-¾” to the score line

Then trim the piece off at the score line with your paper trimmer or scissors (you can use this piece as your dutch door if you like)

Designer Paper or Paper Pumpkin Card/ Envelope Patterns Used as DSP:

(1) Dutch Door Front Panel - 2-½ x 3-¾” or use add-on postage die from Beautiful Blooms Dies

(1) Bottom Front Panel: 2-½ x 4”

Insert: 4 x 5-¼” (Basic White or cut kit envelope and use as white layer)

Add your DSP or Paper Pumpkin patterns from the kit to the bottom front of your card before adding your fun fold piece.

Only add adhesive to the bottom of your dutch door piece so you don’t glue the gatefold shut.

Stamp greeting on insert. Glue insert inside card. Add die cuts and embellishments to decorate your dutch door fun fold card!

HORIZONTAL DUTCH DOOR FOLD CARD

CARD BASE: 4-¼ x 5-½” & 2-¼ x 11” Score Strip: 5-½”

Designer Paper or Paper Pumpkin Card/ Envelope Patterns Used as DSP:

(2) DSP Strip 2 x 5-¼” (I cut a card front in half and used as DSP)

(1) Dutch Door Panel: I used pre cut pieces from the kit (see photo)

Insert: 2 x 5-¼” (Basic White)

After scoring the card base strip, fold at the score line and glue this piece to a 4-¼ x 5-½” base along the bottom of the card. This becomes a fun fold piece.

Add your DSP to the card along the top inside and the front of the fun fold piece. On the inside of the fun fold piece add your insert in Basic White.

I chose to use die cuts from the kit in place of a traditional dutch door piece. Be sure to only add adhesive to the bottom of the die cut pieces that will be your dutch door so you don’t glue the fun fold piece shut.

Stamp greeting on die cut for card front and insert. Glue insert inside card. Add embellishments.

DOUBLE DUTCH DOOR FOLD CARD

CARD BASE:

4-¼ x 9” Score: 5-½”

8-½ x 2” Score: 2-⅛” on each end of strip

Designer Paper or Paper Pumpkin Card/ Envelope Patterns Used as DSP:

(1) Top Front DSP 3-¼ x 4”

(2) 1-⅞ Square Panels

(2) 1-¾ Square Panels

(1) Dutch Door Panel - NOTE: I used the Postage Die from Beautiful Blooms

(1) Insert: 4 x 5-¼” (Basic White)

Take the strip and fold on the score lines at either end. Glue this to the bottom inside of the card base. This becomes the bottom dutch door panel.

Glue insert which will cover the strip on the inside of the card. Glue DSP to the front top flap panel before adding your postage die cut.

Position the die cut so that it comes off of the front panel (this will close the double doors at the bottom of the card and you have your fun fold!

Just like the other cards, only add adhesive to the top part of the postage die cut so you don’t accidentally glue the fun fold shut.

Add your 1-⅞ squares to the bottom doors first and then add the 1-¾” squares.

NOTE: 1-¾ was the largest square I could manage from the envelope flap (the pink pattern on the squares shown in picture above) that’s why I chose that measurement. If you are using different paper make the squares the size you like!

Stamp greeting on die cut. Decorate card front with die cuts and embellishments.

I hope you enjoy these dutch door fun fold cards! This is an easy fold to use with your Paper Pumpkin card kits! So much fun!

NOTE: The crumb cake card is the only card that I used the Easter Joy DSP. Everything else is from the card kit patterns or envelope strips.

Here are the original Paper Pumpkin Designed Cards

I have mentioned before and I'll remind you again that Shy Shamrock, Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, Petunia Pop and Summer Splash are all retiring colors this year. If there is a color you love be sure to stock up before the colors are gone in ink, cardstock, etc.

I am so sorry to see those colors go but very excited for the new colors coming in May.

Happy crafting!

3 GATEFOLD CARDS TO MAKE IN 2026

Here are 3 gatefold cards you should make in 2026!

I wanted to try a new fun fold and found three gatefolds I think you should make too!

I am going to be using the Homemade Sweetness Suite from Stampin’ Up! for today’s cards.

I will also be using the Beautifully Celebrated Dies: https://www.stampinup.com/products/beautifully-celebrated-dies?demoid=2212777

I have a FREE PDF Tutorial for today's cards you can get here when you sign up for my email list: GET FREE TUTORIAL PDF

NOTE: If you are already on my email list this free PDF resource has already been sent to you!

The Homemade Sweetness Suite will be available on March 3, 2026 with the release of the March 2026 Online Exclusives (not in a printed catalog) exclusively in the online store.

You can wait OR you can take advantage of the starter kit and add this suite! If you get the starter kit today or before March 2nd you will also get the Stampin' Positioner tool for free! Plus, free shipping on your starter kit!

If you would like to learn more about the starter kit please reach out to me with questions: stampingwithhart@gmail.com or click here: STARTER KIT SPECIAL

DOUBLE GATEFOLD CARD

Measurements:

CARD BASE: 5-½ x 11” Score: 1-¼, 3-⅜, 7-⅝, 9-¾”

DESIGNER PAPER: (Homemade Sweetness DSP)
  • (2) Strips 1-⅛ x 5-⅜”
  •  (2) Panels 2 x 5-⅜”
  •  Insert: 4 x 5-¼” (Basic White)
Instructions:

Cut card base and score. Fold on score lines. Achieve crisp edges with bone folder. Glue panels and strips.

Stamp greeting on die cut for card front and insert. Glue insert inside card. I chose to glue down the double gatefold flaps but it is optional. See video tutorial.

When adding your die cut to the front of the card be sure to only add adhesive to the left side panel so you don’t glue the gatefold shut. Add embellishments.

Next, the SIDE GATEFOLD CARD!

SIDE GATEFOLD CARD

Measurements:

CARD BASE: 5-½ x 8-½” Score: 1-½, 5-¾”

Designer Paper:
  • (1) Strip 1-¼ x 5-¼”
  • (1) Panel 2-½” x 5-¼”
  • Insert: 4 x 5-¼” (Basic White)
Instructions:

Cut card base and score. Fold on score lines. Line up corners of cardstock before creasing with bone folder so it’s nice and straight. Glue panel and strip.

Stamp greeting on die cut for card front and insert. Glue insert inside card.

When adding your die cut to the front of the card be sure to only add adhesive to the left side panel so you don’t glue the gatefold shut. Add embellishments.

Finally, here's the BOOK BIND GATEFOLD CARD!

Measurements:

CARD BASE: 4-¼ x 11” Score: 2-⅛”, 3-⅜, 8-⅞”

Designer Paper:
  • (1) Strip 1 x 4”
  • (2) Panels 1-⅞” x 4”
  • Insert: 4 x 4” (Basic White)
  • Optional: (2) Strips of Ribbon (about 6 inches for first piece and 10 inches for the bow)
  • Optional: (2) 1/2 x 4" DSP strips for the inside of the card
Cut card base 4-¼ x 11” and score: 2-⅛”, 3-⅜, 8-⅞”. Fold on score lines. Achieve crisp edges with a bone folder. Glue panels and strip onto card.

Stamp greeting on die cut for the front of card and insert.

NOTE: If you are adding ribbon to the book bind section of the card I like I did in the tutorial then glue the edges of the ribbon inside the book bind strip before gluing this strip down. With a book bind fold you glue the first panel (first score line) to the card and then your gatefold panels open and close on this fun fold! Add your 4 x 4 insert.

When adding your die cut to the front of the card be sure to only add adhesive to the left side panel so you don’t glue the gatefold shut.

OPTIONAL: When I tie bows I usually cut two pieces of ribbon, 6” strip for the book bind strip and 10” for the bowl. Once I have the bow in place I add a glue dot behind the knot to hold in place. I know many of you prefer to keep the ribbon flat and not add the bow so this way you can choose the look you prefer. Add embellishments.

CASEING the April 2026 Paper Pumpkin TEASER CARD: Wonderful Scenes and Waterside Retreat

Today I am on the C.A.S.E. (copy and share everything) or an interpretation of the April Paper Pumpkin teaser card released by Paper Pumpki...
