Handmade Dutch Door Cards - Easy Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card Ideas for February 2026

If you are loving your Paper Pumpkin kit cards and you feel ready to try your hand at making some easy fun fold cards with your Paper Pumpkin Kits I recommend the Dutch Fold Card!

I have three Dutch Fold Cards for you today using the February 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit: Celebrate Spring! The Easter Joy Suite also coordinates with the February 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit.

FUN FACT: I only used Shy Shamrock ink with the alternative cards as well! All you need is extra cardstock for these fun folds! And I recommend scissors, a paper trimmer and liquid glue.

I have a free PDF download of today's card measurements and instructions. You can get it here when you sign up for my email list: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/zt1LQ8b/3dutchdoorfolds

There is a BONUS stamp set in the March kit!

VERTICAL DUTCH DOOR FOLD CARD

CARD BASE: 5-½ x 8-½” Score: 4-¼”

Cut the front of the card in half at 2-¾” to the score line

Then trim the piece off at the score line with your paper trimmer or scissors (you can use this piece as your dutch door if you like)

Designer Paper or Paper Pumpkin Card/ Envelope Patterns Used as DSP:

(1) Dutch Door Front Panel - 2-½ x 3-¾” or use add-on postage die from Beautiful Blooms Dies

(1) Bottom Front Panel: 2-½ x 4”

Insert: 4 x 5-¼” (Basic White or cut kit envelope and use as white layer)

Add your DSP or Paper Pumpkin patterns from the kit to the bottom front of your card before adding your fun fold piece.

Only add adhesive to the bottom of your dutch door piece so you don’t glue the gatefold shut.

Stamp greeting on insert. Glue insert inside card. Add die cuts and embellishments to decorate your dutch door fun fold card!

HORIZONTAL DUTCH DOOR FOLD CARD

CARD BASE: 4-¼ x 5-½” & 2-¼ x 11” Score Strip: 5-½”

Designer Paper or Paper Pumpkin Card/ Envelope Patterns Used as DSP:

(2) DSP Strip 2 x 5-¼” (I cut a card front in half and used as DSP)

(1) Dutch Door Panel: I used pre cut pieces from the kit (see photo)

Insert: 2 x 5-¼” (Basic White)

After scoring the card base strip, fold at the score line and glue this piece to a 4-¼ x 5-½” base along the bottom of the card. This becomes a fun fold piece.

Add your DSP to the card along the top inside and the front of the fun fold piece. On the inside of the fun fold piece add your insert in Basic White.

I chose to use die cuts from the kit in place of a traditional dutch door piece. Be sure to only add adhesive to the bottom of the die cut pieces that will be your dutch door so you don’t glue the fun fold piece shut.

Stamp greeting on die cut for card front and insert. Glue insert inside card. Add embellishments.

DOUBLE DUTCH DOOR FOLD CARD

CARD BASE:

4-¼ x 9” Score: 5-½”

8-½ x 2” Score: 2-⅛” on each end of strip

Designer Paper or Paper Pumpkin Card/ Envelope Patterns Used as DSP:

(1) Top Front DSP 3-¼ x 4”

(2) 1-⅞ Square Panels

(2) 1-¾ Square Panels

(1) Dutch Door Panel - NOTE: I used the Postage Die from Beautiful Blooms

(1) Insert: 4 x 5-¼” (Basic White)

Take the strip and fold on the score lines at either end. Glue this to the bottom inside of the card base. This becomes the bottom dutch door panel.

Glue insert which will cover the strip on the inside of the card. Glue DSP to the front top flap panel before adding your postage die cut.

Position the die cut so that it comes off of the front panel (this will close the double doors at the bottom of the card and you have your fun fold!

Just like the other cards, only add adhesive to the top part of the postage die cut so you don’t accidentally glue the fun fold shut.

Add your 1-⅞ squares to the bottom doors first and then add the 1-¾” squares.

NOTE: 1-¾ was the largest square I could manage from the envelope flap (the pink pattern on the squares shown in picture above) that’s why I chose that measurement. If you are using different paper make the squares the size you like!

Stamp greeting on die cut. Decorate card front with die cuts and embellishments.

I hope you enjoy these dutch door fun fold cards! This is an easy fold to use with your Paper Pumpkin card kits! So much fun!

NOTE: The crumb cake card is the only card that I used the Easter Joy DSP. Everything else is from the card kit patterns or envelope strips.

Here are the original Paper Pumpkin Designed Cards

I have mentioned before and I'll remind you again that Shy Shamrock, Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, Petunia Pop and Summer Splash are all retiring colors this year. If there is a color you love be sure to stock up before the colors are gone in ink, cardstock, etc.

I am so sorry to see those colors go but very excited for the new colors coming in May.

Happy crafting!

3 GATEFOLD CARDS TO MAKE IN 2026

Here are 3 gatefold cards you should make in 2026!

I wanted to try a new fun fold and found three gatefolds I think you should make too!

I am going to be using the Homemade Sweetness Suite from Stampin’ Up! for today’s cards.

I will also be using the Beautifully Celebrated Dies: https://www.stampinup.com/products/beautifully-celebrated-dies?demoid=2212777

I have a FREE PDF Tutorial for today's cards you can get here when you sign up for my email list: GET FREE TUTORIAL PDF

NOTE: If you are already on my email list this free PDF resource has already been sent to you!

The Homemade Sweetness Suite will be available on March 3, 2026 with the release of the March 2026 Online Exclusives (not in a printed catalog) exclusively in the online store.

You can wait OR you can take advantage of the starter kit and add this suite! If you get the starter kit today or before March 2nd you will also get the Stampin' Positioner tool for free! Plus, free shipping on your starter kit!

If you would like to learn more about the starter kit please reach out to me with questions: stampingwithhart@gmail.com or click here: STARTER KIT SPECIAL

DOUBLE GATEFOLD CARD

Measurements:

CARD BASE: 5-½ x 11” Score: 1-¼, 3-⅜, 7-⅝, 9-¾”

DESIGNER PAPER: (Homemade Sweetness DSP)
  • (2) Strips 1-⅛ x 5-⅜”
  •  (2) Panels 2 x 5-⅜”
  •  Insert: 4 x 5-¼” (Basic White)
Instructions:

Cut card base and score. Fold on score lines. Achieve crisp edges with bone folder. Glue panels and strips.

Stamp greeting on die cut for card front and insert. Glue insert inside card. I chose to glue down the double gatefold flaps but it is optional. See video tutorial.

When adding your die cut to the front of the card be sure to only add adhesive to the left side panel so you don’t glue the gatefold shut. Add embellishments.

Next, the SIDE GATEFOLD CARD!

SIDE GATEFOLD CARD

Measurements:

CARD BASE: 5-½ x 8-½” Score: 1-½, 5-¾”

Designer Paper:
  • (1) Strip 1-¼ x 5-¼”
  • (1) Panel 2-½” x 5-¼”
  • Insert: 4 x 5-¼” (Basic White)
Instructions:

Cut card base and score. Fold on score lines. Line up corners of cardstock before creasing with bone folder so it’s nice and straight. Glue panel and strip.

Stamp greeting on die cut for card front and insert. Glue insert inside card.

When adding your die cut to the front of the card be sure to only add adhesive to the left side panel so you don’t glue the gatefold shut. Add embellishments.

Finally, here's the BOOK BIND GATEFOLD CARD!

Measurements:

CARD BASE: 4-¼ x 11” Score: 2-⅛”, 3-⅜, 8-⅞”

Designer Paper:
  • (1) Strip 1 x 4”
  • (2) Panels 1-⅞” x 4”
  • Insert: 4 x 4” (Basic White)
  • Optional: (2) Strips of Ribbon (about 6 inches for first piece and 10 inches for the bow)
  • Optional: (2) 1/2 x 4" DSP strips for the inside of the card
Cut card base 4-¼ x 11” and score: 2-⅛”, 3-⅜, 8-⅞”. Fold on score lines. Achieve crisp edges with a bone folder. Glue panels and strip onto card.

Stamp greeting on die cut for the front of card and insert.

NOTE: If you are adding ribbon to the book bind section of the card I like I did in the tutorial then glue the edges of the ribbon inside the book bind strip before gluing this strip down. With a book bind fold you glue the first panel (first score line) to the card and then your gatefold panels open and close on this fun fold! Add your 4 x 4 insert.

When adding your die cut to the front of the card be sure to only add adhesive to the left side panel so you don’t glue the gatefold shut.

OPTIONAL: When I tie bows I usually cut two pieces of ribbon, 6” strip for the book bind strip and 10” for the bowl. Once I have the bow in place I add a glue dot behind the knot to hold in place. I know many of you prefer to keep the ribbon flat and not add the bow so this way you can choose the look you prefer. Add embellishments.

Easy Elegant Handmade Cards with the Scalloped Wishes Bundle

Easy elegant cards with the Scalloped Wishes Bundle!

Vertical Layout

Horizontal Layout

The Scalloped Wishes Bundle is an online exclusive product that will be available to customers on March 3, 2026.

You can put this bundle in your starter kit right now (you get to choose the items you want in your starter kit) plus you will get the exclusive Stampin' Positioner for free until March 2, 2026!

Learn more here: https://www.stampinup.com/join?demoid=2212777

For today's tutorial there are two layouts: horizontal and vertical versions with the scalloped ovals in this bundle!

Card Base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2" Score: 4-1/4"

DSP Layer: 3-3/4 x 5"

Note: I will be using the Easter Joy Designer Series Paper today but I chose the non-Easter patterns for more of a Spring theme that would compliment this bundle.

Easter Joy Specialty DSP: https://www.stampinup.com/products/easter-joy-12-x-12-30-5-x-30-5-cm-specialty-designer-series-paper?demoid=2212777

Colors used for ovals: Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, Shy Shamrock, Balmy Blue, Lemon Lolly, Crumb Cake, Basic White

As I've done in previous videos, I love creating a simple template from the negative of die cuts and then gluing it to the grid paper on the Stampin' Positioner so I can repeat stamp onto die cuts in multiple colors.

Being able to perfectly stamp both ovals at one time onto both die cuts is such a time saver! I am LOVING the exclusive Stampin' Positioner!

I loved creating the different combinations of ovals and even layering the small ones over the large ovals!

This is an easy technique of cutting the small oval in half - in this case vertically - and then gluing it to each side of the oval. Decorate your cards with all of the other lovely die cuts in this bundle!

Here is the horizontal version! Same steps!

Have fun layering your ovals! Here is the large oval with the greeting and then the small oval stacked on top of the large for an elegant multi-layered look!

If you are tired of Winter then this will be a crafting treat! This Scalloped Wishes Bundle also features greenery, flowers and dragonflies!

FREE SHIPPING! Three days only! February 18 -20, 2026

Pretty in Pink

Lemon Lolly

Peach Pie

Crumb Cake

Balmy Blue
*This is a simple version of the card*
No split oval on the ends but still elegant and easy!

This color combo works with Easter Joy and the February 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit: Celebrate Spring as well! This bundle will elevate your Spring and Easter cards and 3D projects!
