THANK YOU CARDS FOR THE "HELPERS:" Why Rock Legend from the Kit Collecti...

In today's video we are making thank you cards for the "helpers!"

We are in the 4th quarter of the school year and it's a perfect time to tell the teachers, adminstrators, aides, paraprofessionals, therapists, doctors, nurses, coaches or volunteers just how much you appreciate them!

We are using the "Rock Legend Kit" from Kit Collection to make some of these cards!

That's right! Kit Collection Alternate Card Ideas!

I will also be using the Everyday Thanks Stamp Set (retiring soon) and the By My Side Stamp Set (also retiring soon).

I typically do this with Paper Pumpkin kits every month and I'd love your input! Please leave a comment if you would like to see more alternate card ideas from the Kit Collection kits (which are a little different than Paper Pumpkin). What is the main difference between Paper Pumpkin Kits and Kits Collection Kits? PAPER PUMPKIN is a monthly subscription box. -Every month includes a stamp set and ink spot and the themes change each month -You have be a subscriber to receive Paper Pumpkin kits and you need to be subscribed by the 10th of every month to receive that month's kit. For example: if you want the April 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit you must be subscribed by 4/10/24 -Paper Pumpkin offers sneak peeks but you do not see all of the kit elements until you receive it in the mail. -As a Paper Pumpkin subscriber you can also enjoy purchasing past kits, refills and add-ons. KIT COLLECTION KITS -There is a wide range of kits, some have ink and stamps, others do not -You can purchase Kit Collection kits anytime at stampinup.com (I would love to earn your business if you choose me as your demonstrator) -You know EXACTLY what you are getting in each kit -You do not have to subscribe to receive them -Prices vary -Perfect for new hobbyists If you shop with me and spend over $50 please use the Host Code. If you spend over $150 *before tax* do not use the Host Code. You will get your own Host Rewards HOST CODES ARE GOING AWAY! Starting in April I will no longer be using Host Code rewards because Stampin' Up! is changing the way you earn rewards. More to come on that next month. THE 2023-2024 ANNUAL CATALOG & January to April 2024 Mini Catalog ARE RETIRING! Retiring Items have been announced. Select discounts on retiring items will begin April 8th. Do not wait if there is something you want. Once retiring items sell out they are gone.

I will be using some In Color product as well. I recommend getting any retiring 2022-2024 In Color products as soon as you can. Once they are gone, they are gone.

Select retiring items will go on sale starting April 8th.

Enjoy the card ideas!

You can download the free project sheet for today's cards here: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/zzlpNK7/flightandairydspcardideas

Today is the last day of Sale-a-Bration! Here are four card layouts to help you use that DSP! NOTE: I swapped out Daffodil Delight for Lemon Lolly.

CARD 1 MEASUREMENTS (Get Well WIshes)
  • Card Base: 4-1/4 x 11" Score: 5-12" (Lemon Lolly Cardstock)
  • Inside Layer: 4 x 5-1/2" (Basic White Cardstock)
  • DSP Layer for Card Front: 4 x 5-1/4" (Flight & Airy DSP)
  • (1) Die Cut 1: Bird on a Branch DSP (Thoughtful Expressions Dies)
  • (1) Die Cut 2: Layering Die Cut (Thoughtful Expressions Dies)
  • (1) Die Cut for Sentiment (The Love of Spring Dies)
  • (1) Ribbon: 6" (Garden Green)
  • (3) Tinsel Gems

INSTRUCTIONS

Stamp "Get Well Wishes" with the Seasonal Branches Stamp Set in Pecan Pie ink on the Sentiment Die Cut piece but stamp on the right side of the die cut. The left side will be glued to the next piece.

Glue the bird on a branch die cut to the coordinating layer die cut in Lemon Lolly. Glue the left side of sentiment piece to the back of this one. See photo.

Glue DSP to card front. Glue the die cut panel to the lower third of the card front.

Tie a small bow and place under bird on a branch die cut with a glue dot. Finish with dimensionals.

NOTE: Don't forget to glue the inside panel.

TIP: Take some leftover scrap DSP and use a piece to decorate the inside of your card. (Optional)

CARD 2 MEASUREMENTS (Thinking of You)

  • Card Base: 4-1/4 x 11" Score: 5-12" (Calypso Coral Cardstock)
  • Inside Layer: 4 x 5-1/2" (Basic White Cardstock)
  • DSP Layer 1: 2-1/8 x 4" (Flight & Airy DSP)
  • DSP Layer 2: 2-1/8 x 4" (Flight & Airy DSP)
  • DSP Layer 3: 1 x 4" (Flight & Airy DSP)
  • (1) Die Cut Bird (Seasonal Branches Dies) Basic White Cardstock
  • (1) Die Cut Small Branch DSP (Seasonal Branches Dies) Pecan Pie Cardstock
  • (1) Die Cut for Sentiment (Thoughtful Expressions Dies Size: 1-1/2 x 2-3/4")
  • (1) Ribbon: 4-5" (Garden Green)
  • (3) Tinsel Gems

INSTRUCTIONS

Stamp "Thinking of You" in Garden Green ink from the Excellent Eggs Stamp Set on the sentiment die cut.

Glue DSP panels to card front. Bird Pattern top, the 1" panel center and the Pecan Pie panel on the bottom. Trim edges on ribbon and glue to the center DSP strip.

Place sentiment die cut on dimensionals and add to card.

Glue the Pecan Pie branch to top right of the sentiment.

OPTIONAL: Stamp and color bird from Seasonal Branches Stamp Set and color with Stampin' Blends (Bronze, Boho Blue and Sweet Sorbet colors on bird)

I liked the branch on top of the bird's feet but you can glue the bird on top of branch too.

Finish with Tinsel Gems in Green

CARD 3 - BACK FOLD - MEASUREMENTS (Thanks)

  • Card Base: 5-1/2 x 7-1/2" Score: 3-1/4 and 6-1/2" (Lemon Lolly Cardstock)
  • Inside Layer: 3 x 5-1/4" (Basic White Cardstock)
  • DSP Layer 1: 3 x 5-1/4" (Flight & Airy DSP)
  • DSP Layer 2: 7/8 x 5-1/4" (Flight & Airy DSP)
  • DSP Layer 3: 2-5/8" Size Thoughtful Expressions Die Cut (Flight & Airy DSP)
  • (1) Layering Die Cut (Thoughtful Expressions Dies Size: 3") Boho Blue Cardstock
  • (3) Tinsel Gems

INSTRUCTIONS

Stamp "Thanks" from the Seasonal Branches Stamp Set in Pecan Pie ink directly onto the Die Cut DSP piece with the bird and branch. Stamp greeting by the bird or wherever your white space is depending on the piece you die cut.

Glue this piece to the coordinating Die Cut in Boho Blue. Set aside.

Glue the DSP panels and insert for the inside of card. Bend the score line (the 1 inch part of card) back. Add adhesive only to the right side of the die cut and glue to that back fold panel only. This becomes the fun fold and will keep the card closed until you bend back panel to open the card.

Finish with Tinsel Gems.

CARD 4 MEASUREMENTS (Hello Spring)

  • Card Base: 4-1/4 x 11" Score: 5-12" (Pecan Pie Cardstock) - Cut 1-1/2" piece and 2-1/2" piece off of one side of card to create fun fold pieces
  • Inside Layer: 4 x 5-1/2" (Basic White Cardstock)
  • (2) DSP Layer: 1-1/4 x 4" (Flight & Airy DSP)
  • DSP Layer: 2-1/4 x 4" (Flight & Airy DSP)
  • (2) Die Cut Eggs (Excellent Eggs Dies) Very Vanilla Cardstock - create the half shell by using the chevron die to cut egg in half (use two half pieces per card)
  • (2) Fussy Cut Birds (Flight & Airy DSP) Largest Bird Pattern
  • (4) Iridescent Pearls

INSTRUCTIONS

Take the Pecan Pie pieces to create the fun fold card front. Take the 1-1/4 strip and line up with the edge of the card base. Take the 2-1/2" piece and glue the DSP panel to it then place a thin strip of glue on either edge ONLY and leave center without glue. Place over the two 1-1/2 inch strips on the card fronts to create the fun fold panel. Then glue the 1-1/4" DSP pieces to the sides.

Glue the inside panel in Basic White. Stamp "Hello Spring" in Fresh Freesia ink in the area where you can see the white behind the fun fold panel. Hello Spring is from the Excellent Eggs Stamp Set. Place fussy cut birds on dimensionals and add to the center front panel. Place the egg shell halves over the birds also with dimensionals. This makes them look like they just hatched. Finish with Iridescent Pearls.

I hope you enjoyed today's free project sheet and cards!

Happy Crafting!

February 2024 Paper Pumpkin ALTERNATE CARD IDEAS: Sweet Springtime EASTE...

Here are some alternate card ideas using the February 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit: Sweet Springtime as well as other Stampin' Up! products. See the full list of products below.

GATEFOLD CARD WITH BELLY BANDS

MEASUREMENTS

  • Card Base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2" Score: 2-1/8 on each side (Basic White Cardstock)
  • (2) 2 x 5-3/8" Panels (Use the Kit Slimline Card Base Cut to This Size)
  • (1) 1 x 10 Band - Score: 2-1/4" (leave other side to fold in and score later) (Daffodil Delight Cardstock)
  • (1) Die Cut Bunny & Chick (February 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit)
  • (3) Die Cut Leaves (The Love of Spring Dies) (Garden Green & Granny Apple Green Cardstock)
  • (1) Die Cut Thoughtful Expressions for Sentiment & Bunny (Basic White Cardstock)
  • (3) Wild Wheat Dots (2023-2025 In Color Dots)

INSTRUCTIONS

Fold card panels inward until they meet. Get a crisp edge and proper gatefold line up by smoothing the score lines with bone folder.

Stamp sentiment in Pecan Pie ink at the bottom of the sentiment die cut. I chose "Happy Easter" from the February 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit stamp set.

Glue panels to the gatefold card front on each side.

Fold the scored side of the belly band and then wrap the band and fold on the other side. This helps to make sure it isn't too tight. Get a nice score line with your bone folder. Secure band with strong adhesive.

Glue 3 leaf die cuts to the largest die cut where you just stamped Happy Easter. Place the bunny & chick die cut over part of theleaves on Stampin' Dimensionals.

Finish with 2023-2025 In Color Dots in Wild Wheat.

GINGHAM FUN FOLD CARD

MEASUREMENTS

  • Card Base: 4-1/4 x 11" Score: 5-1/2" **Trim off 2-3/4" panel from one side of the card base and this becomes the fun fold front panel** (Petal Pink Cardstock)
  • Inside Panel: 2-3/4 x 4-1/4" (Basic White Cardstock)
  • DSP Inside Panel: 4 x 5-1/4" (Petal Pink Gingham Pattern - Use card base from kit or liner inside the kit envelopes)
  • DSP Side Panel: 2-1/2 x 4" (Petal Pink Gingham Pattern - Use card base from kit or liner inside the kit envelopes)
  • DSP Front Panel: 2-1/2 x 4" (Use the Slimline Card Pattern)
  • (1) Sentiment Die Cut (Basic White Cardstock) (Thoughtful Expressions Dies 3" Size)
  • (1) Layering Die Cut (Pecan Pie Cardstock) (Thoughtful Expressions Dies 3-1/2" Size)
  • (1) Pecan Pie Center Stitched Ribbon (About 7")
  • (3) Neutrals Sequins in Bronze

INSTRUCTIONS

Adhere your DSP Panels.

For the stamping: stamp Bunny in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Stamp bunny on the masking paper and fussy cut. Place the mask over the stamped bunny. Stamp chick next to bunny slightly overlapping. Color with Stampin' Blends: (use the die cut bunny/ chick as a color guide)

  • Bunny:
    • Bronze & Ivory Stampin' Blends Combo - Hair
    • SU1000 (lightest flesh tone shade in the Natural Tone blends or Petal Pink combo) - Inside of Ears and Nose
  • Chick
    • Daffodil Delight Blends Combo
    • Wild Wheat Blends Combo
    • SU1000 (lightest flesh tone shade in the Natural Tone blends or Petal Pink combo) - Beak and Feet
  • Outline
    • Pool Party Dark & Color Lifter
  • Grass
    • Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Combo

Stamp "there's no bunny like you" from the Excellent Eggs Stamp Set next to the bunny's head in Pecan Pie ink.

To create the fun fold: take the rectangle piece and add adhesive only to left side of the rectangle so you can adhere it to the side panel.

NOTE: DO NOT put glue on the entire piece or your fun fold won't work.

Add the inside panel to the card. The inside panel should line up with the front fun fold piece. My tip for this is to add your adhesive to the back of the white piece and then hold it up to the front rectangle until it aligns and then set it down on your card. Gives you a perfect line up every time!

Glue to the stamped image to the layering die cut and then add to card on dimensionals. Place a little glue under the die cut and press your ribbon down so only the tails peak out from the side.

Finish with Neutrals Sequins in Bronze.

MEASUREMENTS

  • Card Base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2" Score: 4-1/4" (Basic White Cardstock)
  • DSP Layer: 1-1/8 x 5-1/2" Granny Apple Green Gingham Pattern from Inside Slimline Envelope
  • (2) Darling Details Lace Strips - 1 x 5-1/2" (Berry Burst Cardstock)
  • (1) Wreath Die Cut
  • (1) Bunny & Chick Die Cut
  • (1) Banner Die Cut
  • (3) Embellishments (Purple Shimmer Gems in Berry Burst)

INSTRUCTIONS

Stamp "Happy Easter" on the die cut bunner in Early Espresso ink from the kit.  Glue the lace strips with the Tear & Tape from the kit to the Gingham strip and then add the whole panel to center of card. Decorate with the wreath and bunny. Add banner. Finish with desired embellishments.

This card is the same concept as the above card only the lace strips are 1 x 4" and gingham measurements are 1-1/8 x 4"

Stamp daffodils from kit stamp set 6 times on a 4 x 5-1/4" Basic White panel and color with Stampin' Blends in Daffodil Delight and Wild Wheat. Stems in Granny Apple Green Blends.

MEASUREMENTS

  • Card Base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2" Score: 4-1/4" (Daffodil Delight Cardstock)
  • Darling Details Frame Layer: 3-3/4 x 5" (Basic White Cardstock)
  • Card Base of Bunny and Daffodils 4-1/4 x 3-5/8"

  • (1) Berry Burst Banner Die Cut
  • (3) Matte White Dots from the Kit
  • 4 x 5-1/4" Basic White Insert for Card

INSTRUCTIONS

Glue the scene and then the Darling Details Frame over top. Color Daffodil Die Cuts with Stampin' Blends in Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green. Add a piece of dimensional to the flower head and then an adhesive dot at the bottom of the daffodil and tuck it into the frame. Bookend them around the bunnies. Stamp "Happy Easter" on the banner and add with dimensionals.Finish with Matte White Dots.

January 2024 Paper Pumpkin ALTERNATE CARDS: Triple Time Technique

You can download the free project sheet here: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/qH4M7nC/jan2024paperpumpkinalt1

January 2024 Paper Pumpkin Alternate Cards
Triple Time Stamping Technique
Featuring Painted Lavender Stamp Set as Well

If you are a visual person like me it helps so much
to see the coordinating colors in the stamps from the kit

Today's card features an oldie but goodie stamping technique: triple time stamping! Both cards have the same measurements.

CARD MEASUREMENTS

  • CARD BASE: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2" Score: 4-1/4" (Paper Pumpkin Card Base or Desired Shade of Cardstock)
  • BASIC WHITE (Cardstock): 4 x 5-1/4"
  • COLOR CARDSTOCK LAYER: 3-1/4 x 4-1/2"
  • BASIC WHITE: 3 x 4-1/4"
  • COLOR CARDSTOCK LAYER: 2-1/4 x 3-1/2"
  • BASIC WHITE: 2 x 3-1/4"
  • (Optional) Insert in Basic White - 4 x 5-1/4" (for inside of card only if you use your own color cardstock like Berry Burst or Gorgeous Grape)

INSTRUCTIONS

Take the 3 Basic White pieces and adhere them together temporarily by placing a VERY SMALL amount of adhesive in the center of each layer. I recommend a single adhesive dot from your Paper Pumpkin kit for each layer. You can place on finger or tap a few times to remove some of the stickiness so it's easy to remove later.

Once you've stacked and temporarily adhered your Basic White layers it's time to stamp.

Stamp leafy sprig in all four corners with Bubble Bath ink for the Valentine... switch to Real Red ink (the same stamp) and fill in the areas between the pink. You can continue to layer until you are happy with your result.

(Highland Heather for the lavender version)

NOTE: With the triple time technique, try to get the stamp across two or even all three layers for a great payoff later when card is assembled.

The traditional Valentine version sticks to just two shades: Real Red, Bubble Bath

The Lavender version features: Highland Heather, Berry Burst, Garden Green and Gorgeous Grape

You can choose how many different stamp images or sentiments you'd like. The Valentine is the same image in two colors and then "With" "Love" and "Happy Valentine's Day" stamps center.

The Lavender version has flowers, butterflies, leaves and sentiments. Make it as easy or as layered as you would like!

Once you are done stamping, separate the layers (give them a gentle twist to separate the temporary adhesive dot) and mount each layer to it's coordinating cardstock mat.

OPTIONAL: If you plan to add an insert to your card then stamp and glue it to the inside of the card. If you are using a Paper Pumpkin card base from this month's kit you won't need an insert. If you choose to make your own cardbases, consider adding the insert!

I hope you enjoyed today's card tutorial!

Here is the product list for today's cards.
