Two Card Tutorials in One Video! (Days 3 and 4 of Facebook Blitz) Saleab...

Here are Days 3 & 4 from my 5 Day Facebook Blitz combined! I did this because I ran out of time when it came to posting the replays. As much as I wanted to get everything published by September 30, 2021 on all of the social media platforms I didn't quite make it on YouTube. That's ok!

I'd love to hear what you thought of this little 5 day marathon! I hope you are inspired to create with your new Saleabration goodies!

Happy Crafting! All pictures of cards here:

You will especially love how many cards and stamped images you can get out of it! I stamped across an entire 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock and every image was perfect without freshening up the ink on the baby wipe.

Let's jump in! This is pretty easy but there are a few tips I'd like to share based on doing this myself and taking the advice of other crafters who were seasoned at this technique:

  • Use a plate or glass mat or something that can be easily cleaned (you will set your baby wipes and ink on this
  • Use a few baby wipes to absorb the extra ink so less gets onto the plate (unless you aren't worried about the surface to clean up)
  • If you don't want ink on your fingers consider plastic gloves
  • You want the area of ink on the baby wipe to be big enough to accommodate your largest stamp you plan to use with it. For example, I needed the ink area to be big enough for all of the leaves in the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set and those are various sizes (think small, medium and large)
  • Choose whatever color combo you prefer
  • You can be random with where you place your ink on the wipe or you can create specific patterns/ shapes (it's up to you)
  • During my experimentation phase I discovered both photopolymer and cling stamps work. I also discovered sentiments and images work. I prefer solid image stamps but I even chose stamps with very thin handwriting in Ornate Thanks stamp set to create a vintage looking background and those also picked up the ink from the baby wipe nicely. My thing is to have fun with it. I think the bolder the letters the better. Decide what works for you! It's so much fun to play with these. Here are some card samples for you.
Because today's blog is more about the technique I will not be including measurements for every single layer but every card base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. All of the basic white layers started at 4 x 5 1/4 but some were trimmed down depending on what I wanted to keep of the stamped images. I encourage using scraps as well with stamp sets like Gorgeous Leaves.

Color Combo: Garden Green, Rich Razzleberry and Cherry Cobbler. Gorgeous Leaves Stamps,
Ornate Thanks Stamps and Ornate Layers Dies. The sentiment was heat embossed with
White Embossing Powder

How to Stamp a Perfect Mirror Image: Twins Cards! Wildly Adorable Stamp Set

In this blog we will talk about mirror imaging. This is not a new technique but it's a fun one to use from time to time and gives you the best bang for your buck with your stamps.

I needed to create a card congratulating my cousin who is going to have twins in the Fall! One boy and one girl! I thought mirror imaging would be perfect for this using the Wildly Adorable Stamp Set.

Before I get into the Tutorial, did you know Saleabration is still going until September 30th? Spend $50 or $100 and earn free products! Plus, the Starter Kit includes your choice of a FREE BUNDLE also until September 30th. If you have any questions contact me at stampingwithhart@gmail.com. I'm happy to answer any questions!

Onto the cards...

Aren't they so cute!!!!!

I created a collage to show the steps of creating a mirror image:

And it's as easy as that! I wanted the babies to touch hands in the images where designed that way (the lion and bunny rabbit). The artists who created these babies made it perfect to mirror!

If you like paper piecing I also added that technique to give them patterned onesies! I used the 2020-2022 In Color 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Pack in Bumblebee, Misty Moonlight and Magenta Madness.

The Stamparatus and Silicone Mat are perfect for this technique. Be sure to ink the silicone mat version several times (4 or 5) to get a strong ink image when it's applied to the paper.
