November 2022 Paper Pumpkin ALTERNATE CARD IDEAS: From the North Pole Ki...

I have a FREE PDF Tutorial for today's ALTERNATE CARD Ideas from the November 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit. Click here for the tutorial link: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/su/jC4FmIs/novpaperpumpkinalternates

All 4 Alternate Cards Using the November 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit

The November kit is a tag kit but we are going to turn the tags into cards today! I had asked if you prefer cards over tags and the answer was a definite yes to cards! So here we are!

Because we do not have the typical printed card bases or envelopes in this kit I usually use as a sort of Designer Series Paper, we are going to create our own with the adorable stamp set in this month's kit.

So, it's all about fun and easy backgrounds and using the die cuts to decorate the cards.

I will be creating my own card bases and cardstock layers for these cards but we will use many elements from the kit as well.

If you are interested in specific measurements then you can download the free PDF Tutorial.

I have a full supply list below.

I want to wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Crafting!

Just a reminder: NO FACEBOOK LIVE ON THANKSGIVING DAY

If you purchased the North Pole Sacks Add-On consider using
it as a layer on your alternate cards or tags!

Christmas Card Ideas with the Window Wishes Bundle and the Family & Frie...

I have a few more card ideas with Window Wishes and the Family & Friends Stamp Set. I love how these products combine to create beautiful Winter and Christmas scenes.

You can find a full product list below and the November Host Code has already been added for your shopping convenience!

The card features the couple from Family & Friends Stamp Set
and a stamped window scene from the Window Wishes Bundle

Family stamp (partial) with die cut scene from the
Window Wishes Bundle

CARD MEASUREMENTS:
  • Card Base 4-1/4 x 11 score at 5-1/2" (Basic White)
  • Layer: 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" (cut out the window from center) Gingham Cottage DSP
  • Window Outer Frame Die Cut (Red or Black)
  • Window Inner Frame Die Cut (Red or Black)
  • Banner Sentiment Die Cut (Basic White)
  • Garland Die Cut (Soft Succulent)
  • Single Tree Die Cut (Soft Succulent)
  • Double Tree Die Cut (Soft Succulent)
  • House and Roof Die Cuts (Basic White)
  • Bow Die Cut (Basic White or Red)
INSTRUCTIONS:

Cut window out of center of DSP with the outer window die. Die cut pieces list above.

Stamp 3 of the 5 family members in the lower center of the window with Memento Tuxedo Black ink (if you plan to use Stampin' Blends to color the family).

Stampin' Blends Shades for Family:
  • Soft Succulent
  • Smoky Slate
  • Basic Black
  • Night of Navy
  • Ivory
  • Pool Party
Die cut the slope just above the family with the die that cuts into paper. If you do not want to die cut in the slope there is a stamp you can use.

Stamp house in Sweet Sorbet. Stamp roof in Memento Black. Stamp trees and garland in Evening Evergreen ink. Tuck the tree into the slope in the upper corner and the trees in the lower part of the slope. This creates your scene in the window.

You can decide whether you'd like to add the inner window frame. I chose to leave it off the card created in the video. The inspiration card does include both window frames if you like that option!

Stamp sentiment in Evening Evergreen on banner piece and add just under the window.

Add garland above the window frame. Glue on bow. Add pearls with the white or red pearlized enamel effects to the garland and center of bow. Set aside to dry.

I hope you enjoyed today's card ideas! Here is the product list and happy crafting!

MY NOVEMBER HOST CODE
For customers who shop online with me in November and spend more than $50 before tax, you will receive a free embellishment from me in December. Here is the shop link that will automatically add this Host Code to your online shopping cart. Easy! https://www.stampinup.com?hostcode=6PWJR9M9

A PERFECT WINTER THANK YOU CARD!

It's no secret for those of you who follow me that I LOVE the Fitting Florets Collection! If you are new, so is this collection and I have been using it nonstop! There is no exception for my customer thank you cards!

I am using the Framed Florets Bundle for the thank you version and I added in a sentiment from the Framed & Festive Stamp Set for the Christmas card.

CARD MEASUREMENTS:
  • 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 score at 4-1/4" (Basic White Cardstock)
  • Layer: 4 x 5-1/4" (Snowflake Specialty Vellum)
  • Large Detail Oval Die Cut (Basic White)
  • Small Oval Die Cut (Basic White or Silver Foil)
INSTRUCTIONS:

Using the smallest oval die, cut out the center of the snowflake layer. Die cut the other two ovals in Basic White cardstock.

Stamp sentiment in Gray Granite ink after adhering the snowflake vellum with preferred adhesive for vellum. *I like the adhesive dots from past card kits like Paper Pumpkin or glue dots. I place those behind the printed snowflakes so the adhesive doesn't show through. Place as many as you'd like. I did about 8-10 dots each card layer.

I used hot glue to adhere the large oval and then the smaller oval layered over top of the big oval. This creates a great tone on tone wintery white card look for the thank you cards.

Finish by adding Adhesive Backed Stars to the 4 decorative places on the the large/ small oval frame.

That's it!

DID YOU KNOW:

Easily interchange this sentiment by using the small oval die cut (the inside, not the frame) by stamping a different sentiment and popping it over the one on the card! So, if you like to recycle or if you need a card in a pinch that is a different theme, no problem! You can even make these portrait or landscape! It doesn't matter. How cool is that?

The Christmas Version
Silver Specialty Foil, Snowflake Foil Printed Vellum
Framed & Festive Stamp Set

The Thank You Card Version
White Flocked Vellum

Send an extra oval with your card to easily change out the sentiment!
Turn a Thank You card into a Christmas card in under a minute!

Two stamp sets from the BRAND NEW Fitting Florets Collection

I hope you enjoyed today's blog post! Here are a list of the products used on today's cards. Do NOT miss these products before they are gone! They are absolutely stunning for your winter/ Christmas cardmaking needs!

Happy crafting!

3 All Occasion and 3 Christmas Theme Card Kits

You can reach out to me with any questions about my class. Deadline to register is 11/7/22 but I may close registration sooner if the collection goes on backorder or the limited time items sell out.

Today's Paper Pumpkin Alternates focus specifically on the stamp set and re-creating the look of the Santa Die Cut once you use up the die cut pieces from the kit and want to keep the look and theme going with the Santa face stamp.

I loved the Paper Pumpkin die cut Santa so that was my inspiration for today's cards. It's actually a good thing when you use up the pieces in your kit, but you have a few options once they are gone purchase refills (if available) or utilize the Santa stamp that comes in the kit.

3 x 3 cards are great for group parties, gift giving or events. They are a perfect size for kids to get or make when they are just starting to make cards and it's a great way to extend the life of your kit and stamp set and leftover pieces.

I decided to use a different DSP (Lights Aglow Designer Series Paper) for this project, and I decided to color the Santas with water painters and re-inkers or ink refill bottles as they are better known. If you are not familiar with them, we use the ink refills to refresh the color in our ink pads.

CARD MEASUREMENTS
  • 3 x 3 Card Base
  • 3" Lights Aglow DSP layer
  • 7/16 x 2" Very Vanilla Sentiment Layer
  • Scrap watercolor paper (or thick cardstock) to stamp and color Santas (I fussy cut but you could also cut out with a small circle or oval or square die from your collection)
  • 2 Gold Swirl Embellishments
  • I recommend the 3-1/8 x 3-1/8" Basic White Envelopes from Stampin' Up! I had mentioned there might be Very Vanilla but it's Basic White for this envelope size and I have included them in the product list below
INSTRUCTIONS

Stamp multiple Santa faces in Stayz On ink on watercolor paper. If you are fussy cutting you don't need much space inbetween images, but if you plan to cut the face out with a die, just make sure you leave enough space between images for the die you are using.

Add a few drops of desired colors onto a clear block with a few drops of water and mix together. Color with Water Painters. The more water, the softer the wash or color. Less water means much more intense color. I like the happy medium mix of water and color.

Color hat, skin and add some gray to the beard if desired. I used the following colors:
  • Cherry Cobbler (Hat, Nose and Cheeks)
  • Soft Succulent (Hat)
  • Petal Pink (Face)
  • Gray Granite (Beard and Trim on Hat)
Cut out Santa faces and set aside.

Create your card bases by cutting a piece of cardstock to 6 x 11" score at 3" and then cut every 3 inches. You should get 3 of the 3 x 3 card bases per sheet.

Take the Lights Aglow DSP sheet that has the 4 gold foil shapes on it. Cut it at 3" and then cut again at 3" you will get 4 square pieces of DSP with two gold foil circle patterns and two square gold foil patterns. This gets glued to the card front. Put dimensionals on the Santa faces and place in upper center of the shape. Stamp "Santa is Coming to Town" from Paper Pumpkin stamp set onto the sentiment piece and then place those on mini dimensionals just under Santa's face.

With the Framed & Festive Stamp Set from Fitting Florets Collection, add the inside sentiments to your cards. They are the perfect size and coordinate beautifully.

Finish the card off with the brand-new Gold Swirl embellishments from the Fitting Florets Collection.

These could easily be tags for a gift bag as well! Just punch a hole in the corner and string onto bag handle or ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed today's project. You can find all of the products used linked below for these alternate card ideas. I do not link refills because you have to be a Paper Pumpkin subscriber to order those.

GIFT GIVING SEASON STARTS NOW!

Remember, Paper Pumpkin is such a great gift idea! There are several ways to gift Paper Pumpkin. You can purchase extra kits, wrap them and gift them or purchase a pre-paid code for them. You could assemble a set of cards from a kit and have the completed cards be the gift so they can send gorgeous handmade cards to loved ones. My favorite idea is creating a family or friends night where you assemble kits together and make it a memory. Make it a tradition.

Adhesives! This is also a great stocking stuffer or gift idea for cardmakers, stampers, crafters, scrapbookers... Kits do include adhesive but it's great to have extra on hand for holiday projects or for the new year! If you are interested in an adhesive bundle reach out to me.

Happy crafting and remember this is a great time to join Stampin' Up! as well. Learn more here:
