INSTRUCTIONS

Stamp Cauldron in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Die cut with coordinating cauldron die.

To color the cauldron with Stampin' Blends (from dark to light working into the center of cauldron):

  • Basic Black Light
  • Pebbled Path Dark
  • Pebbled Path Light
  • Smoky Slate Dark
  • Smoky Slate Light
  • Daffodil Delight Light & Dark + Wild Wheat Light & Dark (for the handle)

Once you are happy with the blending of the colors for the cauldron and the handle, I recommend going back around the outline of the handle with Basic Black or Smoky Slate to create some dimension and shadow around the handle.

Stamp greeting onto the sentiment die cut. I chose "A little hocus pocus" OPTIONAL: Stamp the star cluster next to sentiment also in black ink. Set aside.

Stamp bubbles in VersaMark ink about center on the white arch die cut panel. I recommend lining it up with the die cut cauldron, then remove the cauldron, add anti-static powder and stamp bubbles in VersaMark. Sprinkle clear heat emboss powder on the bubbles and heat set with the heat tool. Let cool for just a minute.

To color the Arch (emboss resist technique):

With blending brushes (I used the small but regular one is also fine)

  • Summer Splash on bottom half of die cut panel
  • Lemon Lime Twist on upper half (ok to be messy and heavy handed)
  • OPTIONAL: Just a soft shadow of black ink at the very bottom edge with Summer Splash

Now, my blending brush technique here is not precise and it isn't meant to be smooth. It's a little messy actually but I really like that look for Halloween. You blend as desired. I went for bold, bright and messy (as if a potion was creating a glow in the room).

You will see those clear heat embossed bubbles turn vivid white as you blend your ink over it with the blending brushes! So cool! So easy! Wipe away excess ink with a kleenex or cloth from the clear emboss.

Once you are happy with your panel shading you can set aside.

Now, stamp your background on the Pebbled Path frame layer. Stay straight with the stamp if you can and stamp generously all over this panel. Once your pattern is stamped finish with your Pebbled Path Dark Stampin' Blend marker by coloring just around the edge with the line pattern is around the arch. This helps that detail edge frame to stand out!

Glue frame to card base. Glue the panel in the center. It should line up exactly. Add your cauldron with dimensionals.

OPTIONAL: Add some color to the edges of you sentiment die cut with the leftover ink on your blending brushes. Add the green first and then finish with the black. It is SUCH a cool look!

Don't forget your inside panel. Stamp "Happy Halloween" and add some drippy goo if desired!
