Coordinating Colors for the December 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit: All the Best |
CARD 1: Stamped Dandelion Background
- Card Base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2" Score: 4-1/4" (Basic White Cardstock)
- Balmy Blue Layer: 3-3/4 x 5" (I used part of a card from the kit for this)
- (1) 2-3/8" Circle (Basic White Cardstock)
- (1) Piece of Natural Ribbon (about 5-1/2" inches or so)
- (1) Curved Dandelion Die Cut from Kit
- (3) Faceted Gems from the kit
INSTRUCTIONS
This card re-creates the framed pattern of the one card from this month's kit using the dandelion stamps included. While I give directions on heat embossing this background you can also use whatever ink shade you'd prefer if you do not want to get into heat embossing yet. I do recommend it when you are ready to give it a try.
Stamp background first in VersaMark ink. I recommend using an anti-static tool on this prior to stamping (so the powder only sticks to the ink).
Stamp the largest dandelion in the four corners of the Balmy Blue layer. Go around a second time with the same stamp and fill in the larger gaps.
With the next size down dandelion stamp go around the edges and stamp where it fits. Leave the center blank. Continue to fill with the two smaller dandelion stamps. Once you are happy with your background sprinkle the white heat emboss powder, tap off excess and then heat set with your heat tool.
Add your ribbon. I typically tuck the edges of the ribbon behind the layer for a clean look and adhere with Tear & Tape from the kit. Place center in the layer you just stamped. Glue this layer to card base.
Stamp "Hello Friend" in Balmy Blue ink in the center of the circle punch. Add to the center of card with dimensionals. With dimensionals add the curved die cut abover the circle. Finish with faceted gems.
CARD 2: Hello Friend
- Card Base: 4-1/4 x 11" Score: 5-1/2" (Crushed Curry Cardstock)
- Dandelion Scene Layer: 3-3/4 x 5" (I used part of a card from the kit for this with the dandelion patch along the bottom)
- (1) 4-1/4" Deckled Circle (Half of a circle cutting out dandelion image from the envelope in the kit)
- Inside Layer: 4 x 5-1/4" (Basic White Cardstock)
- (3) Faceted Gems from the kit
INSTRUCTIONS
Cut the card base in half from the kit that has the dandelion scene. Trim to 3-3/4 x 5"
Die cut the dandelion image from the envelope with the 4-1/4" size Deckled Circle Die. This will end up being a half circle. Leave enough white space to stamp your greeting. Around 2-1/2" and then add to the right side of the dandelion scene layer. Glue to card. Stamp "Hello Friend" in Pebbled Path ink next to the dandelion on the deckled circle. Add faceted gems. Add inside layer.
CARD 3: Wishing You All the Best
- Card Base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2" Score: 4-1/4" (Basic White Cardstock)
- Pebbled Path Tartan Specialty Paper Layer: 5-1/8 x 5-3/8"
- Pebbled Path Tartan Specialty Paper Layer: 1/2 x 3-1/2"
- Dandelion Envelope Layer: 3-3/4 x 4-3/4"
- (1) Die Cut Square from the kit
- (3) Faceted Gems from the kit
INSTRUCTIONS
Stamp additional dandelions as a continuation of the printed dandelion on the envelope layer. Using Crushed Curry ink (or Stampin' Write marker) and Old Olive ink (or Stampin' Write marker) add the two colors to each dandelion image and stamp it so it looks like a cluster of dandelions. I used the largest stamp dandelion and the smaller dandelion stamp.
Glue the Pebbled Path layer to the card base. Glue the envelope layer. In the white space to the left of the dandelions glue the Pebbled Path strip after adding banner edges. I recommend the Banners Pick a Punch but you can also use your scissors like I ended up doing in the video.
Stamp "Wishing you all the best" in Pebbled Path ink in the die cut square. Place on dimensionals and add over the banner strip. Finish with faceted gems.
OPTIONAL: Stamp two small dandelions in the lower corner of the die cut square.
CARD 4: A Thousand Good Luck Wishes
- Card Base: 4-1/4 x 11" Score: 5-1/2" (Old Olive Cardstock)
- Dandelion Scene Layer: 4 x 5-1/4" (I used part of a card from the kit for this with the dandelion patch along the bottom)
- Gold Foil Deckled Circle: 3-1/2"
- Inside Layer: 4 x 5-1/4" (Basic White Cardstock)
- (1) Die Cut Circle from the kit
- (3) Faceted Gems from the kit
INSTRUCTIONS
Stamp the largest dandelion image using the two tone process from the previous card with Crushed Curry ink and Old Olive ink but this time stamp off one time before stamping in the center of the circle die cut. It will have a softer look so we can stamp the greeting over top of it. Stamp "A thousand good luck wishes" in Pebbled Path ink.
Glue the dandelion scene layer to the card base. Glue the gold foil circle in the upper portion of the scene. Add the die cut circle over it with dimensionals. Finish with faceted gems.
I hope you enjoyed today's alternate card ideas!
